Situated on a prominent site at the western end of the High Street in this historic Chiltern town, the site adjoins existing residential properties on its eastern side and is bounded by the A413 on its south and west flanks. To the northern side the land has a mixed agricultural use. Amersham High Street comprises a mixture of mostly residential period housing, with two major period inns and a number of public houses. The site is triangular in shape, reasonably level and well enclosed with natural hedging and trees. The High Street is located within the Green Belt and An Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The Old Town is also in a Conservation Area.
Amersham Old Town lies about a mile from Amersham on the Hill, with its good shopping centre and main line station to London by both Metropolitan Line Underground to Baker Street and the City and to London Marylebone by Chiltern Railways.
